It all started when I ripped a hole in the knee of my absolute favorite pair of Joe’s Jeans. I was devastated. How could I be so careless with my most treasured pair of pants?! They were already hemmed and everything. (#shortpeopleproblems)
I recommend cutting larger holes on the knees. It works best if you cut in narrow horizontal strips if you like some white threads to still cover the holes.
I also cut a couple of small slits further up on the thigh area of the jeans. Take your sandpaper block and sand over the cut holes. Sand the cotton off of the denim, and you will be left with the threads. I also used the sandpaper block along the entire front of the jean legs. Sand until you achieve your desired level of distressing… and voila, you have a new (old) pair of pants!
This project was so easy, it really made me rethink my middle school self and all of the $$$ I spent at Hollister.
