I apologize for being sparse with blog posts this past week, but I’ve been a tiny bit busy with this new little man.
Fletcher is a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and trust me, it’s really hard to say no to that face when he wants to play or snuggle.
Other than sharing my first photos of Fletcher, this blog post is an extra special post for me. Exactly one year ago, I bought my domain name for this blog. I’d been toying with the idea of starting a lifestyle blog for months, and finally threw down the $13.99 to purchase DakotaChic.com last October.
Now of course, thinking about starting a blog, and actually starting a blog are two completely different things. It took a couple of months before I even had the courage to hire someone to complete my blog design. Even after the design was complete, it was over 5 months and couple of hundred dollars later, and I still had yet to write my first word. More so to prove my fiancé wrong than anything else, I finally launched my site at the end of March.
Putting your passions out into the public is a scary thing. But I’m so thankful I decided to go go for it. I truly love fashion, beauty and food, but I am in no means an expert on these topics… I’m learning as I go, and I love sharing my experiences. If nothing else, I hope my blog will inspire you to try something new, take a leap of faith and pursue your interests.
I’m continually amazed by the support I receive from friends, family and even complete strangers, and I want to take a moment to say “THANK YOU.” Thank you for taking the time to share a post on Facebook, recipes on Pinterest or even comment online. I hope DakotaChic only continues to grow and becomes even better. If you ever have feedback or suggestions for a post, I would love to hear from you. You’re the best.
